Job Purpose: To maximize all business opportunities, as well as liaise with customers and partners, both current and potential, and other departments within Thomas Smith. To promote all services that TS offers and follow up any leads to sourcing new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop targets, strategies, and lead innovation.
  • Maintain regular contact with important customers to determine their daily and weekly shipping needs.
  • Give accurate advice to potential and current customers regarding solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes and agreements.
  • Provide operational support.
  • Report on all actions and developments.
  • Visit potential and existing clients and give presentations.
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with existing and prospects.
  • Ensure compliance of operations within agreed time frames and deadlines (contracts, etc.) 
  • To monitor efficient and correct execution of services are rendered by trucking operators and overseas agents and other partners.
  • To take a proactive approach in sales and operational issues
Requirements
  • Strong customer service skills to deal with all enquiries and cultivate relationships with future clients.

  • Excels in client services.

  • Has the ability to pre-empt problems and to find solutions whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity.

  • Is self-motivated, results-oriented, and determined to reach sales goals.

  • Is keen about negotiating sales deals with customers and following-up on a regular basis.

  • Possesses highly effective relationship skills so as to communicate, influence and collaborate positively and sensitively with stakeholders, and building relationships based on trust.

  • Shows drive and initiative combined with a good level of business discipline, willing to go the extra mile to succeed.

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and under pressure.

  • Able to prioritise and manage time efficiently.

  • Be able to work under pressure and efficiently within time constraints.
